We Didn’t Invent CoopTime.
We Grew Into It.
For more than 30 years, we’ve been building a life together—through marriage, family, business, ministry, leadership, unexpected transitions, difficult seasons, and more than a few changes of plan.
Looking back, we can see something we couldn’t always see while we were living it:
God was building the method before we ever gave it a name.
A Journey We Had to Live Before We Could Teach It.
Today, CoopTime Institute is an expression of what we’ve learned by living it ourselves and walking alongside leaders who needed many of the same things we needed too:
A place to quiet the noise. Gain clarity. Hear God more clearly. And recognize the next faithful step.
We didn’t arrive here by following a perfectly mapped-out plan. We arrived here by learning to hear, trust, adjust, grow—and keep moving when God’s direction didn’t always look like the path we expected.
We Learned That Partnership Didn’t Mean Thinking Alike.
James
James naturally looks for the root of an issue. He brings logic, big-picture thinking, strategic questions, and an ability to see beyond the immediate problem.
Regyna
Regyna brings empathy, compassion, pattern recognition, practical strategy, and the ability to turn ideas into action.
Learning to value those differences took time. We had to stop viewing our different gifts as competition and begin appreciating what each person brought to the relationship.
“You don’t always need someone who sees what you see. Sometimes you need someone who can help you see what you can’t.”
God Was Building Something We Couldn’t Yet See.
Our journey has taken us through corporate leadership and finance, military service, entrepreneurship, consulting, executive coaching, publishing, writing, ministry, nonprofit leadership, board service, and private advisory work.
We’ve built businesses. We’ve published. We’ve written. We’ve coached executives and entrepreneurs. We’ve advised leaders. We’ve served in ministry.
And we’ve also learned what happens when you know God is calling you to something different—but keep reaching for the familiar because you don’t yet understand what “different” looks like.
Eventually, we learned that hearing God was only part of the journey. We also had to trust His process.
Long Before We Called It CoopTime, We Were Living It.
James was writing and teaching about asking better questions—questions that moved beyond symptoms and helped leaders get to the root of what was really happening.
Regyna was writing about allowing God to order your steps rather than simply following the path everyone else says you’re supposed to take.
Together, we were sitting with leaders, friends, entrepreneurs, pastors, executives, and family members—listening, asking questions, and helping them find clarity in complicated seasons.
“We preach what we practice.”
What God taught us through our own experiences became part of what we could offer others.
“I Need Some CoopTime.”
Years ago, someone reached out because they needed to talk. Their request was simple: “I need some CoopTime.”
The name stayed.
Over time, we began noticing something else. Although the people and circumstances changed, we were repeatedly helping people through a similar process:
Eventually, we realized there was a method inside something we had been doing naturally for years.
Through the Highs, the Lows—and Everything Between.
We’ve celebrated wins and walked through disappointments.
We’ve traveled the world—and lived through seasons when public transportation was how we got where we needed to go.
We’ve been pastors, business partners, parents, advisors, entrepreneurs, and friends. We’ve worked together, ministered together, and raised a family together.
Our offices are even in our home.
And after more than 30 years… we still like each other.
We’ve learned to laugh. We’ve learned to listen. We’ve learned to be still. And we’ve learned that when life puts you between a rock and a hard place, you can lean on the Rock.
Through it all, God has been faithful.
Because Leaders Need Somewhere They Don’t Have to Have All the Answers.
Leadership can be lonely. People look to you for direction, decisions, wisdom, and strength.
Sometimes the very heart that makes you want to serve everyone else leaves little room to acknowledge that you need somewhere to think, listen, and be heard too.
That’s the space we want CoopTime to provide.
Not someone taking over your decisions.
Not another voice adding to the noise.
Not a formula pretending every situation has a simple answer.
A place to slow down. Ask better questions. Remember what God has already said. Find clarity and peace. And move forward with confidence when it’s time to move.
You Don’t Have to Figure It Out Alone.
Whether you’re navigating leadership, business, ministry, relationships, purpose, transition—or simply know something needs to change—sometimes the next step begins by creating enough space to listen.
We’d be honored to sit with you.
